Is detoxing worth it?

A regular detox helps strengthen immune system functioning and fights off infection. Toxins affect the body’s natural ability to burn fat, leading to weight gain. Detoxing rids the body of toxins stored in fat cells and increases metabolism. We recommend doing a detox as this is a great way to kick start your healthy lifestyle change and we encourage all our customers to detox before using our plans and products.

How to detox

We live in a fast paced world where we are constantly busy and rushing to get things done. This can lead to a majority of people eating conveniently. Unfortunately convenient food is mostly packed with additives, preservatives or chemicals, meaning our bodies are packed with the same too.
The best way to detox is to plan in advance. Planning your meals is the single most important thing you can do!
So, plan your meals, write your shopping list, chuck out the junk and set a date to start. This way your all set to go.

How long should I detox for?

We recommend 7-10 days to get the best results.

What do I eat?

Detoxing involves eating whole foods, enjoying a range of vibrant colours and delicious tasting foods.
Eat clean healthy foods, reduced complex carbs, minimum simple carbs and LOTS of fresh ingredients such as fruits, veggies, lean meats, good proteins and healthy fats.

Throw away the junk food? But my kids eat it!

TOP TIP – GET THEM INVOLVED!
No harm came from eating healthy, but eating junk does. Get them started on eating healthy young and they won’t be joining slimming clubs when they are adults.
Get them to write their favourite meals, find healthy recipes, get them writing the shopping list, preparing the veg and cooking it with you.
Swap their ‘treats’ for healthy versions:

  • Biscuits for homemade oat banana cookies
  • Sweets for dried fruits
  • Yogurts packed with sugar for Greek yogurt, berries and honey
  • Sugar packed kids cereals for tasty raspberry porridge, shredded wheat with banana, scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast

Are there any side effect?

There can be yes –

  • Headaches
  • Tiredness
  • Feeling bloated
  • Cold like symptoms
  • Spotty or dry skin
  • Bowel movements
  • Gas
  • Feeling sick

But it is only for a couple of days. It’s just your bodies way of getting rid if the toxins in your body, they have to come out some how.
