Oat Breakfast Bars with Chocolate

Kickstart your day with these yummy oat chocolate bars!Oat Breakfast Chocolate Bar

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 2 cups oat flour (ground oats)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 2/3 cup almond flour
  • 2 medium bananas (200g peeled)
  • 3tbsp maple syrup or any other liquid sweetener

Chocolate Layer:

  • 2 medium bananas (200g peeled)
  • 200g dates
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter or any other nut/seed butter of choice
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

  • Pre-heat over to 180°c
  • Process all the ingredients for the dough in a food processor
  • Press 3/4 of the dough into a lined 7×7 inch pan. You can use a bigger pan, however the bars will be less thick
  • To make the chocolate layer, simply process all the ingredients in your food processor until the mixture is creamy
  • Pour the chocolate layer onto the dough
  • Crumble the remaining dough onto the chocolate layer
  • Bake in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes and let it cool completely before cutting into 6-8 bars
  • Drizzle some icing, chocolate cream or peanut butter (optional) and enjoy your oat chocolate bars!
  • Store leftovers in the fridge
